Art and Animals
Our Humanimal collection of animal earrings are more than just jewelry. Each pair features portraits of dressed animal busts such as cats, pandas, rabbits, squirrels and many more, based on my original Rembrandt surfine oil on wood paintings.
These images are then reworked on the computer and printed on a special material which is baked at 200 degrees, shrinking to give details and an impeccable finish. The 18 carat gold plated stainless steel hooks add a touch of luxury to these delicate creations.
Each animal is depicted in a distinctive style reminiscent of 19th century portraits, sometimes with historical and sometimes modern clothing. At the crossroads between Humanity and the animal world, these portraits are reminiscent of La Fontaine's Fables or Aesop's, because with their piercing gaze, they bring us back to our Humanity.
